“The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.” ~ Oprah Winfrey
During the holiday season, whether surrounded by friends and loved ones or finding yourself alone… Whether bringing new life into the world or mourning the passing of loved ones… Whether in a happy relationship or without a significant other… This time of year can be very difficult for many. During the holiday season, many feel as if they have to be merry, happy, excited, jolly… and feeling the need to be this way, when in many cases one is not, can lead to sad and scary feelings or even depression. We want to avoid allowing ourselves to get down, despite our situation.
What is important to remember is that you are never really alone. What does this mean? You are never alone because you have yourself. Each and every one of you is strong, wise, and powerful beyond measure! If you can love yourself and find happiness within, the rest will follow. If there are things in life that you want and do not have, this is probably the time of year when you will feel this loss the most. And so, this is the time when you will have to work extra hard to not allow yourself to feel the voids.
Do something kind for yourself every single day, keep yourself busy, and all the while, truly feel what you want, truly believe what you want, and truly envision what you want. If you do this daily, eventually, what you want will be yours. Have faith and believe that things have a way of working themselves out.
If you feel as though you don’t want to celebrate the holidays this year… instead, celebrate yourself, your life and your future… for your future can be bright if you believe! Remember how truly special you are because when you feel alone, you sometimes forget. Happy holidays to all and always remember to love yourselves!
