DOCintheBiz is an Internet-based online information and resource service. We believe that receiving online psychological services provides many benefits to the client. These benefits have been described here within the site. We also, however, hold strictly to the idea that if one has more serious issues they are dealing with, i.e. substance abuse issues and/or has been diagnosed with a serious mental illness, online therapy, although can still be very helpful, should not replace the more traditional face to face therapy with a local counselor in your area.

You understand and agree that any feedback provided herein by our licensed psychotherapist does not constitute “therapy”, diagnosis, testing, assessment, evaluation, treatment, supervision or supervision in the same manner as face-to-face therapy with a licensed professional. You further understand and agree that any actions taken based on answers received within this web site are the result of your own decision-making and DOCintheBiz is not liable under any circumstances whatsoever. In the event that DOCintheBiz suggests that you see a qualified professional in person, you will never be referred to a specific person or provider, clinic, institution, or business. Any suggestion by DOCintheBiz that you should seek face-to-face consultation with a qualified professional shall not be construed as a formal referral to any professional or institution. It will be your responsibility to seek out and obtain a formal referral for such services from the primary care provider, insurance company, managed care company, health maintenance organization, or other payor.

When entering into online therapy it is your responsibility to provide full and honest information in your sessions. The effectiveness of therapeutic intervention is based on the willingness to share in your sessions. The therapeutic relationship is also extremely important, and if at anytime you are feeling uncomfortable, it is your responsibility to bring this up with the doctor.

The therapeutic relationship is to be held in the strictest of confidence. There may be a time, however, when a client may talk about hurting themselves or someone else. By law, a licensed professional is mandated to alert the proper authorities. This is to protect you and/or others. There can be no exceptions. In an online relationship, the reporting of a suicidal or homicidal treat or act, may be impossible. DOCintheBiz relinquishes the doctor and/or all employees within the company of ANY liability if such a tragic situation arises. You understand and agree that if YOU suspect any case of child abuse or neglect, elder abuse or neglect, or abuse or neglect of a dependent disabled person, you will report all known information to the appropriate authorities in your local area/state.

If you are in a crisis or emergency situation or you are having thoughts about hurting yourself or others, we ask that you call 911 immediately. DOCintheBiz is not equipped to handle such situations. The online relationship has its obvious limitations of anonymity of its members, ability to contact members via phone or address, or ability to know that information received is genuine.

Using any part of this service is entirely at your own choice and risk. Services are provided “as is” without any guarantees and/or refunds of any monies used. You understand that DOCintheBiz collects payment for ongoing services rendered; however, there will be no further handling of your payment. Services rendered on this website do not qualify for any kind of insurance reimbursement.

Regarding the subscription process: Please understand that if you do not enter in a valid email address during the subscription process or if the email that you enter during the subscription process is not IDENTICAL to the email address with which you initially registered, we will not be able to email you back. The number of emails you signed up for will remain the same; however, you will not receive a response from us. EMAIL ADDRESSES YOU ENTER WHEN YOU SUBSCRIBE FOR SERVICES MUST MATCH EMAIL ADDRESSES YOU ENTER WHEN YOU INITIALLY REGISTERED. The administration team here at DOCintheBiz wants to make sure all our clients understand this very important process so that we can provide a most valuable and positive experience for you!

DOCintheBiz is so confident that we offer competent, reliable, and professional services that we offer a refund policy if for some reason any of our clients are not completely satisfied. Any unused portions of fees will be returned immediately to our clients if requested. Due to the high volume of subscription purchases, all email package refunds may be subject to an administrative processing fee.
