What an inspiration for female talent! Congratulations to Jodie Foster for EARNING the leadership award for women in entertainment as a top female talent!! She shows the world that women can do anything they aspire to do, despite an industry that is primarily run by men.
Having women like Jodie Foster shine above, gives hope to women all over the world to pursue what they love, never to give up on their dreams, but instead make them into a reality. Mostly, she teaches women to keep the faith they sometimes have taken away because they are female.
Yes, we’ve come quite far over the years, but we still have more to go. We need to teach girls that they do not have to exploit or compromise themselves, their beliefs, morals or values in order to get ahead in any business. Jodie Foster shows this in every movie she chooses to take on! She helps to teach the young as well as older females that they do not have to take the roles so commonly written for women that exploit not only the female body, but manage to make women look weak, powerless, dependent on men, sexually submissive, and unintelligent. Girls all over look up to Jodie Foster as they see the intelligent, meaningful, and powerful roles that she has played and when they see her interviewed by the media!
Jodie Foster is a true leader, female role model, and icon!

25|Apr|2008 1I was glad to see your blog on Jodi Foster. She is one female icon whose film works I have always enjoyed. I have watched her grow from a child star to a gracefu, lovely young actress. Inspite of her success, she impresses me as being down to earth with sound values and not one who is not caught up in the Hollywood glitz and craziness.

26|Apr|2008 2Bette,
You’re not alone in what you say about this wonderful actress!! The media has this way of dying to find “dirt” on celebrities, but what can they find about Jodie Foster? She’s an icon for certain.
Thanks for your comment.
Please keep reading.

30|Apr|2008 3Nice post. I have always been a big Jodi Foster fan. She picks interesting roles, and always, as you said, portraying strong females. I thought it was really cool that she took time out from acting to get her degree at Yale. She is a great example of good choices and balance.

30|Apr|2008 4Dear Mary,
I couldn’t agree with you more! Jodie Foster is certainly an icon from whom younger and older actors and non-actors can learn. Not only extremely talented, but educated with great common sense and sophistication, I wouldn’t be opposed to her becoming a teacher of my future children if she ever decided to take more time off from acting!
What an incredible woman I see in Jodie Foster!
Thank you for your comment and please keep reading!

06|May|2008 5Hi KC, I’m flattered to know that you’re interested in my opinion on your site and that I could offer helpful things for your readers.
Your blog is done quite well and with a very professional presentation. You know your field and you identify the main aliments that many in our modern society suffer… some less and others to greater degree as you pointed out.
I’ve only begun to read over your first pages but I like your simple approach and how you allow for your readers to approach you personally through this medium and you in turn give them some basic steps they can take to find relief or to remedy their ills. You guide them to the concept of believing in one’s self, delving deeper into ourselves and through introspection getting to the root of whatever the problem may be. Many people are not aware of these concepts or methods that can be employed to resolve and confront their personal issues, so you’re providing that guidance and instruction so many need.
And as I mentioned on my other notes, we do seem to have a lot in common in that we both see the problems that people have with these emotional and mental illnesses (you probably have a more accurate term for these) and we want to help them find the answers or the cure.
In my case, I’m more of a soul doctor, that is I base myself on the principals of faith and God to find the solution and cure for these aliments. But I think we’re doing parallel work and our motivation is to help others. I admire what your doing and I respect your desire to help others, and even though we may differ a bit in our methods or presentation, I think we’re after the same end results and ultimately it is our love and concern for others that motivates us.
I look forward to finding ways in which we can assist each other mutually, and will continue to read and study your blog.
Have a nice evening,
Ben

06|May|2008 6Dear Ben,
I only speak the truth. From what I’ve read from you, you give great insight and information and we do share a lot in the way of epistomology and practice.
Thank you so much for reading and understanding my way of helping others. You have hit the nail on the head when you described me as someone who, and I quote your words, “You guide them to the concept of believing in one’s self, delving deeper into ourselves and through introspection getting to the root of whatever the problem may be.”
I would love to continue our conversations and have myself, as well as my readers, learn from you.
Thank you so much for commenting and please keep reading!

11|Jun|2008 8Dear Jan,
I couldn’t agree with you more! All I can add to what I have already said about this great woman is that she is a dream for women and girls all over that may have questions as to their self worth, what they can accomplish in life or more.
Jodie Foster is a true icon and inspiration!

03|Jul|2008 9Dr Starling move over - I found Jodie Foster’s next movie Oscar-winning role! Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor who wrote “”My Stroke of Insight”" and delivered a talk about it on TED.com that will knock your socks off! The video’s been seen 5 million times and I understand why.
Taylor was a Harvard trained brain scientist who suffered a massive stroke. I don’t think we’ll ever hear a story like this - Taylor understands how the brain functions and she was able to observe her mind deteriorating. She writes about the euphoric nirvana and a sense of complete peace and well-being she discovered in her stroke! She talks about this in her incredible (don’t miss it) talk on TED.com. The book is great too - highly recommended. You’ll learn how to ’step to the right of their left brain’ to uncover a deep internal peace. Sign me up!

01|Nov|2008 11Good call. I agree she’s done a great deal for women of all kinds. Society tends to condone this exploitation, it seems. Women have much more to offer and have throughout many ancient civilizations been the ones who were looked upon and respected for bearing life.
