A colleague of mine had posted a thread on a social networking website as to the pros and cons of seeking on-line therapy. I thought I would separately address the FINANCIALLY based question that was thrown out in the conversation as to The Affordability of On-Line Therapy.
There is an upside and a downside to seeking online counseling as far as cost is concerned.
I am not aware of any insurance company that will pay for online psychological services. HOWEVER, for someone who does NOT have insurance, the pricing for online services does not even compare to the pricing of face to face therapy. For an individual who does have insurance, the pricing may be as much as their co-pay would be. So, it would equal out in the end.
To get an example of the affordability of on-line therapy, you can visit my site and see my fees.

There is also the factor that some professionals, for privacy issues, do not like to inform their insurance company that they are receiving psychological help. For example, they may want to insure every precaution that it remains confidential. In addition, if they are professionals in the field themselves, they may want the extra privacy of not using their insurance.

I think most people that are trying to distribute information really just want to help people and as long as they aren’t being plagiarized are happy to share their knowledge on a topic. I got the idea from zenhabits.com I think it was…

30|Apr|2008 3I know this is an over used saying, but if it helps one person to breathe a easier, to heal in the smallest way, to live a better life, than it is worth it.
